Investigating Fire Spread in Cladding

Forensic Engineering Track

Date: 13 May 2020
Times: 10 AM London Time with a recorded replay at 3 PM London Time

Regrettably, fire spread in ACP is becoming increasingly common. Ranging from the Address tower fire in Dubai in 2016 and Grenfell tower in London in 2017, to as recently as the Abbco fire in Sharjah, UAE, that took place on 12 May 2020.

Fires such as these have led to major and complex insurance claims, in particular, the cause of rapid and widespread fire growth along the external cladding systems of high rise buildings. New or existing building regulations and standards across the world have been introduced and revised to address the real threat of certain cladding used to envelope high rise buildings.

This webinar presents the steps needed to investigate fire spread through external cladding systems. The webinar will look at the new and updated building regulations introduced in many countries, including the UK, UAE and others. The webinar also presents the latest fire tests of various types of cladding systems and how these tests contributed to the development of new building regulations.
