Cyber Risk: Physical damage in industrial plants initiated by cyber attacks

In today’s world, coordination of day-to-day operations in industrial plants, the monitoring of safety sensors, and the use of CCTV and other security are done through the use of computers. Recognising this, hackers have focused on penetrating infrastructure of industrial plants with the intent of causing mayhem. This widespread infiltration of microcomputers with embedded applications in industrial systems has led to the rise of a new field of computer security: cyber-physical security.

This workshop is designed specifically for insurance underwriters, claims handlers and loss adjusters to give information that will assist participants in understanding the cyber threat faced by different types of industrial plants, as well as investigating losses after the cyber attack. The presenter will provide information that can be used by professionals concerned with evaluating the risk of cyber threats, as well as those responsible for investigating occurrences and evaluating consequences.
