Steam Turbine Losses

Forensic Engineering Track

Date: 18 November, 2020
Times: 10 AM London Time with a recorded replay at 3 PM London Time

Steam turbines are complex pieces of equipment used across a variety of applications, including power generation (nuclear, coal, fossil fuels, geothermal). Following a loss, (whether it be a manufacturing defect, blade failure, fire or corrosion), a specialised expertise is necessary in order to investigate the root cause of the incident. A good understanding of the machinery and principals of use is necessary following a loss.

This webinar looks at the engineering principals behind steam turbines and their deployment, as well as the process of investigating steam turbine losses. We also look at reinstatement options, and the process of working with OEMs.
