Assessing the Damage to Property in Beirut

Date: 25 August, 2020
Times: 10 AM London Time with a recorded replay at 3 PM London Time

We all watched in absolute horror the total destruction inflected by the massive explosion at Beirut Port. The human cost of the explosion is massive and we pray that the people of Beirut can find the peace and strength to rebuild their community. We at CEERISK Consulting stand firmly with all our resources to assist and help through this crisis.

Part of the rebuilding process is understanding and assessing the damage to ensure that rebuilding starts promptly and is completed quickly and efficiently.

Since the explosion, CEERISK has received a number of enquiries from people in the region asking about the impact of the shockwave on buildings to try and understand how to assess and understand the scope of the damage and to develop effective ways to manage reinstatement.

Our experts have developed this webinar to look closer at the engineering aspects of the damage to the buildings and to provide general guidelines on the reinstatement of affected properties.

The webinar will address a number of engineering issues including the characteristics of the shockwaves and the impact of the shockwaves of the explosion on buildings, including the structure, the building envelope and the MEP system.

Additionally, we will look at how to assess damage to buildings overall as well as how damage impacts special occupancies, including hospitals, commercial buildings, data centres, small industries, warehouses, and chemical and fuel storage.

This webinar will also look at replacement, repair and restoration options available as part of the reinstatement process.

This webinar is intended to provide information to help with the rebuilding process and therefore will be FREE and open to ALL interested participants
