Investigating Water Tank Failures

Water tanks are major and complex structures used to store large volumes of water to support advanced industrial processes or supply water to large commercial properties. There are different types of water tanks made from different types of materials in different ways. Failure of a large water tank can both interrupt business and cause physical damage to surrounding properties. Investigating the failure of a water tank can be a complex process that requires in-depth understanding of material sciences, structural engineering and mechanical forces present at a tank.

This webinar will be discussing the common failure mechanisms of different types of water tanks used in different applications. The webinar will also describe steps necessary to investigating the causes of failures, including material, manufacturing, and installation defects.
