Following the success of CEERISK’s workshops in April and discussion about what other issues insurers in the United Arab Emirates find relevant, CEERISK hosted subsequent workshops in Abu Dhabi and Dubai about High-rise building fires & cladding, a topical concern. Delegates met across several sessions to discuss cladding and its use, as well as associated fire hazards.
The workshops, hosted by Yazeed Jarrar and Mamoon Alyah, discussed international regulations related to cladding that insurers ought to be aware of as well as reference documents. There was also discussion of past high-rise fires in the UAE, in addition to discussion of lessons learned from the devastating fire at London’s Grenfell Tower last year.
