Investigating Wind Energy Losses

Forensic Engineering Track

Date: 15 January, 2020
Times: 10 AM London Time with a recorded replay at 3 PM London Time

Globally, wind energy produced a capacity that reached over 600GW in 2018. In addition to the location risks inherent in the remote and sometimes isolated locations where wind farms must be set up, the production of wind energy relies on several components that are susceptible to mechanical, electrical and breakdown failures. These failures lead to major and complex insurance losses that must be dealt with by loss adjusters and insurers.

This webinar presents an expert’s perspective of engineering investigations required to determine the cause following a wind turbine claim. The presenter will use several case studies to highlight the various steps required to complete the RCA process and determine the cause accurately.
