CEERISK has been instructed to carry out an engineering risk survey of a Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal located in Jordan by the Red Sea. The terminal pumps around 350 million cubic feet of LNG to electric power generation plants in Aqaba, near the Red Sea.
The terminal was constructed by a consortium of companies and was inaugurated by His Majesty, King Abdullah II on 31 July 2015 to serve the Aqaba Special Economic Zone by the Red Sea. The LNG port was designed to diversify natural gas resources that are mainly used to fuel turbines and boilers in power plants to generate electricity allowing development of Aqaba’s port as a regional centre to secure various energy sources to other Arab countries.
